SS2Sweet Bordeaux: booming sweet wine business in China

法國Sweet Bordeaux(甜蜜波爾多)在2009年創立,集合了十一個釀造甜白酒的產區,分佈於波爾多以南30公里的加隆河兩邊,面積約3500公頃,主要包括三個葡萄品種:賽美蓉 (Sémillon) 、赤霞珠 (Sauvignon) 和慕斯卡德 (Muscadelle) 。

2013年,甜蜜波爾多進一步發展中國和香港的甜白酒業務。作為甜蜜波爾多的第五大市場,中國去年的消費量增加25%,中文網站的瀏覽量更激增56%。最近甜蜜波爾多更打破傳統,推薦給消費者四個與家人朋友共享的飲用時刻:

甜蜜波爾多於10月28日在香港舉辦一場大師班,讓本地葡萄酒界的專業人士與甜蜜波爾多的代表、釀酒師會面,品鑑並進一步了解認識這十一個法定產區的甜白酒。

甜蜜波爾多於10月29日在香港金鐘海都酒家舉行媒體午宴,讓香港傳媒親身體驗到甜白酒能跟中國辛辣菜色配搭得宜。因為若同時品嚐辛辣的菜色及葡萄酒,後者會很容易被前者的濃味完全覆蓋而失去特色,唯獨跟甜白酒配對飲用,才能把酒的獨特味道帶出來。

Created in 2009, Sweet Bordeaux is comprised of 11 appellations of sweet and mellow wines from the Bordeaux area. Located on both sides of the Garonne River, 30 kms south of Bordeaux, they represent an area of approximately 3,500 hectares and rely primarily on 3 grape varieties: Sémillon; Sauvignon as well as Muscadelle.

n 2013, Sweet Bordeaux has further developed its sweet wine business in mainland China and Hong Kong. As the fifth biggest market to Sweet Bordeaux, China’s consumption has increased by 25% last year, with a significant growth of website traffic (over 56%) to its Chinese website. This year, as distinguished from other alcohols to celebrate exceptional moments with family and friends, Sweet Bordeaux goes further and offers new ways of drinking through 4 key moments, in order to renew Bordeaux’s sweet and mellow wine image and break traditional drinking habits:

  • Sweet Break: a moment called Café Gourmand combining Sweet Bordeaux with three or four mini-desserts.
  • Sweet Mix: a festive and trendy cocktail ideally suited for parties and events
  • Sweet Original: a classic Sweet Bordeaux to share with friends

Sweet dive: an intensified taste of the freshness of the fruit, peppery or spicy flavors triggered by an iced Sweet Bordeaux.

Besides its strong presence in France, Sweet Bordeaux has conceived a series of programs to promote sweet wine widely in China this year.

A well designed master class is open for wine professionals in Hong Kong on 28 October 2014. With the experienced representative from Sweet Bordeaux, local talents are offered an opportunity to learn more about 11 appellations of sweet and mellow wines from Bordeaux.

Sweet Bordeaux crossover Chinese Spicy cuisine at Victoria City Restaurant – 29 October 2014
A press lunch will be organized on 29 October 2014 at Victoria City Restaurant, allowing the local journalists to understand that Sweet Bordeaux is the only wine that can counter Chinese Spicy cuisine’s strong flavors that are hard to pair because the taste usually numbs the taste buds.

Sweet Party at The Mira hotel  – 29 October 2014
After the great success last year, Sweet Bordeaux will again throw a Sweet Party for over 100 people, with the delightful sweet wine traveling a long way from the Bordeaux region of France and delicate canapés, cold cuts and ham provided by Charcuterie Bordelaise. For this occasion at The Mira hotel, both wine lovers and trendy adventurers can enjoy a wonderful sweet night in the lighthearted atmosphere.

Sweet Bordeaux at the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival  – 30 October – 2 November 2014
Each year the festival devotedly presents a varied mix of superb food, great wines, and lively entertainment in a spectacular setting. Sweet Bordeaux has become a regular participant to meet Hong Kong’s growing demand of sweet wine.

Sweet Bordeaux travelling in China (Beijing, Canton, Xiamen and Wuhan) – 31 October – 7 November 2014
As its business is booming in China, Sweet Bordeaux will organize several master classes and grand tastings in Wuhan (31 Oct. to 1 Nov.), Canton (3 Nov.), Xiamen (5 Nov.) and Beijing (6 & 7 Nov.), with the expectation of strengthening its network with the professionals in China as well as exploring new cooperation opportunities.

由法國人主理的L’Imperatrice(HK),母儀(香港),主力推介法國勃根地(Bourgogne)酒、香檳(Champagne)及美國名酒 。

2012年對法國勃根地來說是一個豐收的年份,母儀(香港)特別邀請了酒莊主人兼釀酒師Nicolas POTEL先生親臨主持2012年的Bellene酒莊試酒會,與眾愛酒人仕分享POTEL家族的釀酒歷史。

1960年由父親,Gerard POTEL,購入酒莊Domaine de la POUSSE D’OR開始,當時基於要釀造有質素紅酒的信念,他創造了新的種植提子及釀酒方法。

直到1990之後,Nicolas開始承繼父親的酒莊,並開始鑽研及分析不同釀酒技術及風格,加上不斷的經驗累積,建立了自己的風格,從而創立了一個100%有機種植技術及手摘的品牌Domaine de BELLENE (紅頭樽蓋)及另一個由收購提子來釀酒的品牌Maison ROCHE DE BELLENE(白頭樽蓋),而一些較舊年份及稀有的紅酒便以品牌COLLECTION BELLENUM命名。

Nicolas這晚與酒友分享了他的釀酒經驗及推介,而這批酒的產量由300支至2450支不等,極為美味及旱有。

The Côtes de Bordeaux celebrate their 5th anniversary

with ‘pleasure wines’ to drink and to be enjoyed by Hong Kong consumers

今年繼三項重大葡萄酒展,五月的亞太區國際葡萄酒及烈酒展覽會(Vinexpo Asia)、六月的波爾多酒展(Bordeaux Fête le Vin)和九月的布魯塞爾酒展(Eat! Brussels Drink! Bordeaux) ,波爾多坡地葡萄酒將於11月參展矚目盛事「香港美酒佳餚巡禮」。在波爾多坡地葡萄酒聯合會(Union des Côtes de Bordeaux)積極的推動下,自2009年波爾多坡地品牌的誕生以來,四個坡地產區Blaye、Cadillac、Castillon及Francs的葡萄酒,在法國及海外市場都取得卓越的成績。

原產地波爾多坡地品牌(AOC Côtes de Bordeaux)的誕生,不僅突出其位於「山坡」的特色,更提高波爾多坡地葡萄酒的知名度。波爾多坡地釀酒商一直在共同努力推廣他們的葡萄佳釀,並採用Côtes de Bordeaux的名稱,以強化其品牌。

在波爾多葡萄酒產區裡,波爾多坡地葡萄酒聯合會集合了一千家釀酒商,涵蓋11,000公頃土地面積,主要包括葡萄品種Merlot、Cabernet Sauvignon、Malbec、Sauvignon、Muscadelle和 Sémillon。波爾多坡地葡萄酒的年產量為5,500萬升(以紅酒為主,約97%),佔波爾多葡萄酒總量的10%;換句話說,每十瓶波爾多葡萄酒就有一瓶是來自波爾多坡地的葡萄酒。波爾多坡地葡萄酒的名氣早已超越法國的地域限制。緊接早前的亞太區國際葡萄酒及烈酒展覽會,波爾多坡地葡萄酒正密鑼緊鼓籌備為期兩週的亞洲之行,先參加2014年10月30日至11月2日的國際美食節 — 第六屆「香港美酒佳餚巡禮」,與香港的愛酒人士分享波爾多坡地的佳釀;接著參展11月6日至8日在香港會議展覽中心舉行的第七屆「香港國際美酒展」,屆時7位代表波爾多坡地葡萄酒的釀酒商將專程來港,在佔地36平方米的展位上與業界專業人士會晤和交流心得。

藉著「香港美酒佳餚巡禮」開幕之際,波爾多坡地葡萄酒率先於10月28日舉辦大師班,讓專業人士品嚐和發掘四大產區(Blaye, Cadillac,Castillon 及 Francs)的不同特色。

In 2014, following three large wine events – “Vinexpo Asia” in May, “Bordeaux Wine Festival (Bordeaux Fête le Vin)” in June and “Eat! Brussels Drink! Bordeaux” in September, Côtes de Bordeaux will come to Hong Kong again for the highly anticipated Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival in November. Ever since the launch of the new appellation Côtes de Bordeaux – a single appellation which encompasses the côtes de Blaye, Francs, Cadillac and Castillon – they have been gaining recognition in France and abroad. The Union des Côtes de Bordeaux is whole-heartedly dedicated to developing brand awareness all around the world.

The creation of the AOC Côtes de Bordeaux underlines the value of hillside terroir, and for easier identification of the “Bordeaux” region. The producers are working together to promote their ‘combined’ vintage, and to use the name Côtes de Bordeaux on its own, in order to develop a stronger brand.

Within the wines of Bordeaux, the Union des Côtes de Bordeaux counts nearly 1,000 producers across an area of 11,000 hectares where a wide variety of grapes are planted, such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Sauvignon, Muscadelle and Sémillon. It produces 500,000 hectolitres on average each year (mostly red, at 97%), representing 10% of the wines of Bordeaux, or 1 bottle in 10. And the fame has gone far beyond the boundary of France. After the grand Vinexpo Asia, Côtes de Bordeaux is in full gear preparing for a two weeks trip to Asia, with the participation in the sixth Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival taking place at the New Central Harbourfront from 30 October to 2 November 2014, as well as the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair 2014 (6 to 8 November) with a booth area of 36 square meters. 7 wine producers representing the Côtes de Bordeaux appellation will be there to welcome the local wine professionals.

Before the four-day wine-themed festival, Côtes de Bordeaux will organize a master class on October 28th, allowing the wine professionals to explore the characteristic of the individual village appellation (Blaye, Cadillac, Castillon and Francs).
